How can I cancel a listing on Ebay, then sell the item to someone?
filed in One Bytes on Nov.26, 2009
I have a listing on ebay and I would like to cancel it. I would like to sell it to someone who offer me more than I expected. How do I sell the item specifically to that person without re listing the item? I also want to sell it on ebay? Thank You!!!

Without relisting the item, tell the prospective buyer to place his highest bid offer on the item, i.e., the price he is willing to pay for the item. Who knows, other bidders may come along and place yet higher bids. Don’t get all excited! You owe this guy nothing. You have more to gain by letting the auction run its course rather than being intent on selling this item to this one person.
If this seller is asking you to cancel your listing and sell it to him through the ‘back door’ without eBay’s knowledge, then this is a violation of eBay policy and could get you permanently suspended if caught.

If it has any bids on it – you will need to cancel the bids first, click on the bidders screen for a link on how to do this. If theres no bids just revise to add the buy it now feature, make sure you tell your potential buyer that you will be doing this so they are aware & will buy it before someone else comes along & either bids or buys it.
