Why are the most successful musical acts predominantly male?

Most bands, from classic rock to modern days, that people consider to be the greatest of all time, are made up of mostly guys. Just wondering why men dominate the music industry in this way.

Because men have a penis, and women have a vagina.

I think it goes back all the way to like the 1700s. Women had few rights and were expected to become housewives. And that just carried down all those generations. I know we have rights now but I think in like the 60s-80s it was just one of those ‘guy’ things to do. It’s kind of hard to explain. At the same time I think that it just happened like that. It’s like how most nurses are women.

its because rock music suits the male voice, as does the attitude of rock music with respect to society. Pop music and the subject thereof suits female voices better.
