How to write an in depth profile of someone?
filed in One Bytes on Mar.10, 2010
I have to profile a member of a culture. I have already interviewed my person but I am just not sure how to start my paper. Could I get some suggestions and guidelines as to how this type of paper is constructed?
Thank you.

Look in front of TV news reels and in prints on people, places and events?
In colour and black and white too?
Real time too?

Try to bring us in creatively by focusing on what that person looks like, including how they dress, and any mannerisms that strike you as interesting. This is how you humanize your subject. This will make for compelling reading. Go through your interview and find the one most interesting thing this person said and lead with that. A good lead is very important. You might also try to incorporate a little dialogue into the paper. Dialogue really moves things, especially if you catch the nuances of your person’s culture through their word usage. I know you’ll have a winning paper, good luck!
