I mean that today aggressively advertising yourself seems to be the norm, for business, for relationships, for scholarship – anything at all. Why? Wouldn’t it be better for other people to praise you, your hard work or whatever?

Since people usually associate beauty with youth, one has to wonder why powdered wigs were so popular during the 18th century. I understand that long hair on men was the norm, but why would they want to wear long wigs that were white rather than brown, black, or blond?

I thought the IC would be the one to create payment terms and employment terms, and then submit them to the employer for acceptance or comments. However, in my situation, my employer is insisting on creating the terms. I am just curious what is the "norm"?
